Chris E. Rivera

Chris E. Rivera is President, Chief Executive Officer, and Chairman of EMulate Therapeutics, Inc., and a seasoned life sciences executive with more than 30 years of successful experience in pharmaceutical, biotechnology and medical device development, commercialization, and operations.
He is the Founder and former Chief Executive Officer of Hyperion Therapeutics, which was acquired by Horizon Pharma in 2015. Earlier in his career, he held senior leadership roles at Genzyme Corporation, Tercica Inc., and Corixa Inc., where he led commercial strategy, product launches, and strategic partnerships across multiple therapeutic areas.
Chris also played a key role in advancing the growth of emerging biotechnology companies through his work with the Washington Biotechnology and Biomedical Association, supporting the commercialization of more than 400 companies.
He holds a BS/BA from Northwestern Oklahoma State University and a master’s degree from the University of Oklahoma Health Science Center and studied marketing and management at Seattle University’s Albers Graduate School of Business.
Chris sits on the Board of Directors of CV6 Therapeutics and NI Limited.
